The Challenge – Air and Vapor Barrier and Weather Sealing Materials
As a premier construction product supplier, we had the honor of partnering with Massey Glass and Plate Co. on the ground-breaking project of Google's new office space at 325 Main St. in Cambridge, MA.
In February 2019, Google signed a long-term lease with office developer Boston Properties for a new, 16-story tower to replace Google’s existing space. One short month later, the whole world would practically come to a halt due to the pandemic.
As the pandemic struck, it created disruptions in supply chains worldwide. The construction industry was hit hard, and our commitment to Massey Glass and Plate Co. was under extraordinary pressure.
The Solution – Commitment & Adaptability
Garvin Construction Products was tasked with supplying critical building envelope system materials for the project – air and vapor barriers for weatherproofing and silicone for sealing.
Despite the supply challenges, Garvin rose to the occasion. We’re proud distributors of the biggest and best construction material manufacturers in the industry – and we know which products will get the job done right and on time. Our team demonstrated exemplary commitment and adaptability, ensuring the prompt sourcing and delivery of building envelope system materials.
This dedication allowed Massey Glass and Plate Co. to continue their work on the Google project without interruption, testifying to our resolve in fulfilling our commitments, regardless of circumstances.
The Results – Innovative Resilience
In 2022, Google Cambridge was successfully completed. The building provides 340,000 GSF of office space and an extra 40,000 GSF of retail space.
It includes a public second-level mezzanine terrace and rooftop garden, enriches the neighborhood and the public realm.
